Commotion at the Ocean
Star Spangled Specialty
Come Fool Around with Us
Hair at the Fair
Started in 2003 by Jean and Irwin Richland,
continued by Anna Marie Yura, the BCCSC had
independent specialties held in Ventura
California. In 2014 Susann Brody continued the
tradition but the club did an embedded show in
Ventura, rather than an independent show and
brought back supported entry days with
trophies included. In 2016 to present, Kirsten
Andreassend and Margie Haarsager became
the showchairs and brought back the
independent specialty in Bakersfield, California
with 2 independent specialties in one day and
sweepstakes, all with ribbons, trophies and
supported entry days with trophies.
Kirsten and Margie have also coordinated a get-
together for dinner the night of the specialty
where everyone is invited. It has always been
so much fun whether pot-luck or a barbecue.
BCCSC’s Specialty
Our Specialties have had different names from 2003 to present:
It takes a village to do this show, but well worth it!
For Current year show, please visit “event” page
In 2018 we had one Specialty day and 2 supported entry days. Lots of
fun.
In 2019 we've changed it up again and we're having TWO Specialties so
save the dates! On Friday, March 29th, 2019, we're excited to have
Linda Buckley from Australia judging the specialty in the morning. Then
on Saturday, March 30th, 2019, we welcome Rebecca Copus-Guthrie of
Canada to judge puppy and veteran sweeps in the morning followed by
Jess Buckley of Australia to judge the Specialty. These shows will be
held concurrently with the Wines & Vines Cluster shows March 28th
through March 31, 2019 at the Kern County Fairgrounds in Bakersfield
CA. The BCCSC will be supporting the entries on Thursday and Sunday
too. Yes, you'll have 6 chances to show your dogs in 4 days. Show all or
mix and match! Whatever suits you. Hold on to your hats because
that's not all.... 4 days of obedience and rally! We've also been told we'll
be offering Barn Hunt, Lure Coursing and Fast Cat to the fun! You will
also have the ability to get your dog's eyes OFA test done or have your
boys collected and frozen for future use. Looking forward to seeing all
of you in March!!
In 2020 and 2021 we had to cancel the show due to Covid.
We look forward to 2022 and meeting up with all of our friends!
2022 is in the books. What an amazing get-together or Beardies. 6
shows in 4 days, between Specialties and All-Breed!
